KICT PR Film(2022) The Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) is a government-funded science and technology research institute. It is making the world safer and happier by creating new values of our homeland and developing technologies to enhance the quality of life for everyone.

Our mission is to find answers to national and societal issues by developing world-leading technologies.Our mission of safeguarding the people’s lives and property is translated into the development of technologies to minimize the impact of disasters by ensuring the safety of social overhead capital (SOC) structures and buildings.Technologies for significantly improving the energy-efficiency of buildings that we are developing are a driving force toward the carbon neutral era.A smart city where the latest safe and reliable technologies are applied in construction is realizing a city of a better quality of life.

Establishing an innovative ecosystem for the construction industry and creating a new growth driver by leading a new construction paradigm are also part of our important mission.KICT is testing new technologies by continuously researching revolutionary technologies for future transportation infrastructure.We are going the extra mile to develop new construction materials and methods that challenge the status quo, advancing construction technology for the future.We are at the forefront of developing next-generation construction technologies such as automated construction and building space-based infrastructure with the vision of a future society. Our aim is to boost productivity and expand the boundaries of the construction industry.

3. We are pursuing balanced homeland development and a world where countries grow together by developing the technologies that will help address regional issues and contribute to the growth of developing countries.We are developing and applying the technologies that answer the specific needs of regions to close the gap in regional infrastructure and help each region to realize its vision, contributing to balanced homeland development.We built and run the “Korean Peninsula Infrastructure Forum,” a platform for infrastructure cooperation on the Korean Peninsula, in addition to development of construction technology suitable for North Korea, efficiently responding to inter-Korean construction cooperation and contributing to the prosperity of the Korean Peninsula.

4.We are sharing with developing countries the innovative technologies that contributed to Korea’s economic growth and better quality of life.In particular, we are establishing overseas business bases, transferring platform technologies, and venturing into new markets by carrying out international development cooperation projects with SMEs.KICT, in cooperation with the construction industry and experts at home and abroad, is determined to realize our vision of “Korea’s construction technology in the world” that will make life better for everyone and help address global issues.
